🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Emergency Action in Cottonport: Officials Cut Final Ramp to Move Floodwaters

Cottonport Mayor Terry Jeansonne says local officials have made the decision to use heavy equipment to cut through the final ramp connecting Bayou Rouge and Bayou DuLac in an effort to help floodwaters drain more quickly from the town.

The emergency action comes as Tropical Storm Arthur continues to dump heavy rainfall across the area, with some locations receiving more than 20 inches of rain.

Officials hope the additional water flow will help relieve flooding as conditions remain critical.
