Avoyelles weekend COVID report: two cases, two deaths

The number of new cases of COVID have dropped to around one a day over the past two weeks, but the death toll continues to rise, usually by one a week or even two weeks. This past Friday the parish added one more COVID-related death to its list of victims and then was hit with two deaths over the weekend. There were only two positive results out of 326 tests for the three-day period.
As of Monday, Avoyelles' pandemic totals were 11,562 cases affecting 10,765 individuals, of whom 797 had been reinfected. There have been 204 COVID-related deaths since the pandemic struck the parish in March 2020.
