Avoyelles weekend COVID update: 78 cases, two deaths since Friday

18-month totals: 6,740 cases, 160 deaths
Avoyelles Parish averaged 26 cases per day since the Friday report, but it was enough to push the parish's 18-month pandemic total over 6,700 cases mark.
Monday's report from the state health department noted 78 new cases and two deaths. The positive rate for the 1,318 tests reviewed was 5.9 percent.
The pandemic totals for Avoyelles as of Monday is 6,740 cases and 160 deaths. The state totals on Monday are 717,224 cases and 13,120 deaths.
