Friday COVID update for Avoyelles: 28 cases, no deaths, 11% positive rate

Friday's bottom line numbers for Avoyelles Parish were lower than the past few days', but it still indicates a 10 percent positive rate for COVID.
There were only 253 test results in the Friday report from the state health department. There were 28 new cases and no additional deaths. The report reflects an overall positive rate of 11 percent and a lab test-only positive rate of 9 percent, 20 cases out of 225 tests. There were eight positives out of the 28 rapid result tests for a 28.5 percent positive rate.
The parish's pandemic totals as of Friday were 6,247 cases and 140 deaths. The statewide totals were 679,796 cases and 12,359 deaths.
