Friday COVID update for Avoyelles: four cases, no deaths

At the state level and in Avoyelles Parish, there were more COVID tests reviewed with fewer positive results in the Friday report from the Louisiana Department of Health.

In Avoyelles there were only four new cases out of 312 tests -- including three first-time infection and one reinfection. There were seven new cases out of 252 on Thursday. Statewide Friday there were 668 cases out of 62,403 tests, which is significantly better than the 941 out of 32,191 in the Thursday update.

There were no additional COVID-related deaths in Avoyelles but there were 25 elsewhere in the state since the Thursday report.

As of Friday, Avoyelles' pandemic totals were 11,542 cases involving 10,748 individuals with 794 reinfections and 200 deaths. Over the past 23 months, the state has ha 1,225,637 infections with 16,606 fatalities.
