State reduces parish's COVID count by one in Thursday report

COVID was firing blanks in the last set Avoyelles Parish test results released Thursday. The state health department update showed a net loss of one case from the parish's 14-month total. There were no new cases in the 167 lab tests and six rapid result tests.
The parish has had 4,196 diagnosed cases of COVID-19 since March 2020. Of that number, 3,664 were confirmed by lab tests and 532 were diagnosed using rapid result tests. There have been 123 COVID-related deaths with 115 victims having been diagnosed with a lab test and eight by rapid result test.
The state totals as of Thursday were 461,210 cases and 10,425 deaths.
