Thursday COVID update for Avoyelles: eight cases, no deaths, 287 tests

Avoyelles had a relatively optimistic report on Thursday, with eight new COVID cases identified in 267 tests. There were only two positive results in the 250 lab tests, for a positive rate of under 1 percent. However, there were six positives in 37 rapid result tests, which reflects a positive rate of over 16 percent. Combined, the one-day positive rate was 2.8 percent.
As of Thursday, the parish's 19-month pandemic totals were 6,994 cases and 175 deaths. The state's totals were 746,542 cases and 14,139 deaths.
