Thursday COVID update: two new cases in Avoyelles

Avoyelles Parish added two new cases to its almost 21-month total of COVID infections on Thursday. Those positive results were found 152 tests reviewed. That one-day sample's positive rate of 1.2 percent is better than the state's overall 1.7 percent for the day.

As of Thursday, the parish's pandemic totals were 7,407 cases with 181 fatalities. The state's totals since March 2020 were 775,368 cases and 14,867 deaths.
