Breaking: Sufficient Evidence Found to Proceed in Child Pornography Case! ⚖️
Judge Kerry Spruill of 12th Judicial District Court has ruled that there is sufficient evidence for a criminal case involving alleged pornography involving juveniles to proceed to trial.
The defendant, Conner Keinath, a resident of Illinois, was arrested in Marksville and faces 67 counts related to alleged possession of child pornography, as well as charges for other related offenses stemming from conduct authorities allege occurred while the defendant was in Avoyelles Parish.
Keinath is represented by a team of privately retained defense attorneys, including Marksville defense attorney Chad Guillot, and Baton Rouge defense attorney Philip Robinson.
During a recent preliminary examination, Judge Spruill considered evidence presented by the State in determining whether probable cause existed to move the case forward. Multiple officers with the Marksville Police Department testified during the proceeding, which was closed to the public.
Judge Spruill determined that probable cause exists to proceed, allowing the case against Keinath, who is being held at the Avoyelles Parish Jail, to move forward in the criminal court process. More motions are expected to be filed and heard before the case is set for trial.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jenny Donaghey Beckham who, when contacted for comment, stated that she could not discuss pending criminal matters.
Keinath is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
