The Bunkie Panthers kept their momentum rolling Friday night, putting up a season-high 60 points in a dominant 60–0 shutout over the Vidalia Vikings. The win marked Bunkie’s fifth straight road victory and pushed their record to 8–1 on the season.

The Panthers wasted no time setting the tone. Running back Zion Lee (#25) bulldozed through the Vidalia defense for 144 rushing yards and three touchdowns, including a 51-yard score in the second quarter. Quarterback Austin Fitzgerald (#9) was perfect through the air, completing both of his passes for 56 yards and two touchdowns, both to receiver Cain Milligan (#11). Milligan added another highlight with a 76-yard touchdown run, giving him 132 total yards and three scores on the night.

The defense was just as impressive, holding Vidalia to only 63 total yards and forcing five interceptionsXavier Stafford and Lucas Mose each grabbed two, while Ron Patterson added another, one of which was returned for a touchdown.

Jateren Gaines added a 16-yard rushing score, and Ketron Watson capped off the blowout with a 34-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

With the win, Bunkie has now won five games by 27 points or more, averaging less than 10 points allowed per road game this season. The Panthers return home this Thursday to face the Marksville Tigers at 7 p.m. in what’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated matchups of the season.
