πŸ€ Bunkie Panthers Kick Off Season with Mixed Results

The Bunkie High School basketball teams have been active through the early portion of the 2025–26 season, posting wins and gaining valuable experience as non-district play continues.

Boys Team

The Bunkie Panthers boys team has shown strong momentum in recent games, turning in back-to-back victories in mid-December. On Dec. 16, the Panthers defeated the Avoyelles Public Charter Vikings, 59–42, controlling the pace of play throughout the contest. Bunkie followed with another decisive performance on Dec. 18, earning a 61–40 win over Rapides High School behind steady defense and balanced scoring.

The December wins marked a positive stretch for the Panthers as the team continued to build confidence and consistency heading toward district competition.

Girls Team

The Bunkie Lady Panthers have also been active early in the season, recording both wins and competitive losses. On Dec. 10, the Lady Panthers earned a commanding 57–21 victory over Northwood-Lena, using defensive pressure to limit scoring opportunities.

Bunkie faced tougher outcomes later in the month, dropping a 37–24 decision to Avoyelles Public Charter on Dec. 16 and a 59–31 loss to Rapides High School on Dec. 18. Despite the results, the Lady Panthers continue to focus on development and execution as the season progresses.

As non-district play continues, both Bunkie basketball programs are working to build momentum, sharpen fundamentals, and prepare for upcoming competition.
