Bunkie Police Investigating Separate Stabbing and Shooting Incidents this week

BUNKIE, La. — Bunkie police are investigating two separate violent incidents that occurred Monday evening, April 6, including a stabbing and a shooting. Authorities say the cases are not believed to be connected.

7:33 p.m.
Stabbing reported at the Augustine Apartment Complex on East Church Street.
A male victim was found with a stab wound to the leg and transported to a hospital in stable condition.

10:28 p.m.
Shooting reported near the intersection of Keller Street and South Mable Street.
A male victim sustained a gunshot wound to the face and was transported to a hospital in stable condition.


Stabbing Reported at Apartment Complex

The first incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. at the Augustine Apartment Complex on East Church Street.

Officers responded to multiple calls about a fight in progress and located a male victim with a stab wound to the leg. He was treated on scene and transported to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Investigators identified a suspect, and an arrest warrant has been issued for Ladrakus Goudeau. Authorities are asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact the Bunkie Police Department.


Shooting Occurs Later That Night

Later that same night, just after 10:00 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire near Keller Street and South Mable Street.

Upon arrival, police found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the face. He was transported to a hospital and is currently in stable condition.

According to initial reports, the victim was walking with friends when a suspect approached and fired multiple rounds.


Investigations Ongoing

Police say both incidents remain under active investigation. At this time, the stabbing and shooting are being handled as separate cases and are not believed to be related.
