🎉 Celebrate Avoyelles Parish's 219th Birthday!
Residents and visitors are invited to celebrate the 219th birthday of Avoyelles Parish during a community gathering on Tuesday, March 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bailey’s on the Square in downtown Marksville.
Avoyelles Parish was officially declared a parish of the State of Louisiana on March 31, 1807. Over the past two centuries, the parish has developed a rich heritage shaped by its history, culture, faith, agriculture, music and strong family traditions.
The celebration is being hosted by the Avoyelles Commission of Tourism and will feature refreshments, fellowship and an opportunity for community members to gather and reflect on the parish’s long history while looking ahead toward its upcoming 220th anniversary.
Organizers say the event is designed to bring together residents, business leaders, civic groups and visitors in a spirit of hometown pride while honoring the place many proudly call home.
Community groups and organizations are encouraged to attend and are asked to RSVP by contacting the Avoyelles Commission of Tourism at 318-964-2025.
Tourism officials invite the public to join in wishing Avoyelles Parish a happy birthday and celebrating 219 years of heritage, hospitality and community spirit.
