Celebrating Our 2026 New Teachers of the Year! πŸ‘©β€πŸ«

The Avoyelles Parish School Board recognized several outstanding educators as 2026 New Teachers of the Year during its March 17 meeting highlighting the early impact they are making in classrooms across the parish. Jessica Gauthier, Federal Programs Supervisor, announced the honorees recognizing teachers at both the elementary and high school levels for their dedication and promise in the profession.

At the elementary level those honored included:

  • Mallory Clark of Bunkie Elementary Learning Academy
  • Morgan Lemoine Valois of Marksville Elementary School
  • Mandy Guillory of Plaucheville Elementary School

Olivia Daigrepont of Avoyelles High School was recognized as the high school recipient.

Morgan Lemoine Valois was also named the district’s overall New Teacher of the Year.

School officials praised the recipients for their enthusiasm commitment and positive influence on students as they begin their careers in education. The recognition reflects the district’s continued focus on supporting and celebrating excellence among its newest educators.

According to school officials traditional Teachers of the Year awards will resume next year while Students of the Year will be recognized in April.

Community members are encouraged to congratulate these teachers for the difference they are already making in schools throughout Avoyelles Parish.
