🎉 Congratulations to Our Newest Advanced Officers! 🚓
Sheriff David L. Dauzat has announced that two Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies have recently completed advanced law enforcement training and graduated from regional police academies.
Deputy Dylan Cammack graduated from the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office Regional Police Training Academy on Nov. 25. He upgraded his certification from P.O.S.T. Level II to P.O.S.T. Level I, which is the highest level of peace officer certification in Louisiana. The Basic Law Enforcement Academy is a 15-week program that includes more than 400 hours of training. To achieve this certification, Deputy Cammack successfully passed the Peace Officers Standard Training exam administered by the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement.
Deputy Chase Skubic graduated from the Alexandria Regional Police Academy as a member of the 97th Session on Nov. 20. The academy’s basic recruit program covers 17 weeks of intensive training and totals more than 600 hours, exceeding the state mandate by over 150 hours. The curriculum is designed to prepare peace officers for the demands of modern law enforcement and emphasizes core values of professionalism, obligation, leadership, integrity, courage, and excellence.
The APSO noted that both deputies’ accomplishments reflect the department’s ongoing effort to place well-trained officers on the streets and enhance public safety throughout the parish.
