Lenten Recipe: Shrimp Sauté
Ingredients
- 2 lbs raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 onion, minced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Seasoned salt, to taste
- 2 cans mushrooms or 1 lb fresh mushrooms
- 1 package vermicelli pasta
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 3–4 dashes Worcestershire sauce
Directions
- Melt 1 stick of butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant and translucent.
- If using fresh mushrooms, add them before the onions finish sautéing.
- Add mushrooms (if using canned), lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, seasoned salt, and shrimp.
- Sauté slowly, tossing gently, until shrimp turn pink.
- Add the second stick of butter and cook until fully melted and incorporated.
- Cook vermicelli pasta separately according to package directions.
- Serve shrimp sauté over pasta and enjoy.
