Cook Some Rice: Food Critic Edition

What is probably the nicest and most relaxed restaurant in the parish is Legends Steakhouse, located inside the Paragon Casino. You do have to walk through the casino to get there, and reservations are usually a good idea, but once you are seated, everything slows down.
Legends offers fine dining close to home. It is a great choice for a special occasion when you do not want to drive far but still want a true steakhouse experience. Prices are in line with any quality Γ la carte steakhouse, and the food is superb.
The food critic of this column recently visited for an anniversary dinner. A bottle of Cabernet was ordered, followed by two steaks. One was cooked rare plus and the other medium rare. Both arrived exactly as requested. The steaks were excellent, and the side dishes and salads matched them in quality.

The dining room was quiet and relaxed, and the service was polite and attentive without being intrusive. When our server learned it was an anniversary, she took a photo for us and later surprised us with a complimentary dessert with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate.
If you are looking for a quiet place for a special occasion or simply want a really good meal close to home, Legends Steakhouse at Paragon Casino is an easy recommendation for your next fancy meal.
