🚨 Deville Man Arrested in Florida for Child Sexual Abuse Material Charges!

A Deville man was arrested Feb. 25, 2026, by agents with Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Louisiana Bureau of Investigation on charges related to child sexual abuse materials.

Bobby Wayne Howard II, 56, of Elmus Paul Road in Deville, was taken into custody in Tampa, Florida, and charged with two counts of violating Louisiana Revised Statute 14:81.1, child sexual abuse materials, a felony offense.

According to officials, the investigation began after a tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Howard was apprehended in Tampa with assistance from the United States Coast Guard, United States Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations Tampa Marine Unit, Homeland Security Investigations Tampa, and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.

The arrest was the result of a joint investigation involving the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit, Homeland Security Investigations, the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Louisiana State Police Special Victims Unit.

"It does not matter where you are—if you possess child sexual abuse material or harm our kids, we will find you and bring you back to face Louisiana justice," Attorney General Liz Murrill said. She also thanked law enforcement partners in Louisiana, Florida and at the federal level for their assistance.

Howard was booked into the Hillsborough County Orient Road Jail and is awaiting extradition to Louisiana. Bond information was not available at the time of release. Authorities stated the investigation remains ongoing.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
