Confirmation Season 2026 Begins

Confirmation Season 2026 began on March 1 as the Sacrament of Confirmation was celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Bunkie on the Second Sunday of Lent.

During the Mass, Bishop Marshall administered the sacrament to 11 young parishioners who have spent months preparing through study, prayer and guidance from their catechists, parents and sponsors.

The sacrament marks an important step in their faith journey as they affirm their commitment to the Catholic Church and their role as active members of the parish community.

Monsignor Scott Chemino joined in the celebration as the candidates received the sacrament before family members, sponsors and parishioners gathered for the special occasion.

Church leaders expressed appreciation to the catechists, parents and sponsors who helped guide the candidates in their religious formation and preparation for the sacrament.

The ceremony marked the beginning of the Diocesan confirmation season celebrating the continued faith formation of young members of the St. Anthony community.
