Thanksgiving Kids Workshop, Cโest La Vie
Cโest La Vie Coffee Shop in Marksville will host a Thanksgiving Kids Workshop on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Children are invited to enjoy a morning of fall-themed crafts, with all supplies provided.
While the kids create their Thanksgiving projects, parents can relax and enjoy their favorite drinks from the cafรฉ. The workshop will take place at 408 N. Main Street, Marksville. For more information, call 318-500-9021.
Hickory Hill Community Gumbo Dinner
The Hickory Hill community will host a Gumbo Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Hickory Hill Community Center, located at 239 Hwy 1193 in Marksville. Meals will be served from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., or until sold out. Guests may choose:
- Chicken and sausage gumbo for $10
- Chicken, sausage and shrimp gumbo for $12
Each meal includes 32 ounces of gumbo, rice, crackers, and a drink. Delivery is available for 10 or more orders going to the same location.

MensGiving Community Thanksgiving Dinner, Cheneyville
The Town of Cheneyville will host its annual MensGiving Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, at 12 p.m. at the Annex Building, 601 Front Street.
The event is dedicated to honoring the communityโs senior citizens and women, offering dine-in, to-go and delivery options.
AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana will also be on-site providing blood pressure screenings, BMI testing and assistance with Medicaid questions. Guests will enjoy a generous holiday menu featuring:
- Smoked, fried, and baked turkey
- Chicken and sausage gumbo
- Cornbread dressing
- Cranberry sauce
- Green beans
- Macaroni and cheese
- Sweet potato and pecan pies
- Drinks
Organizers encourage all eligible residents to attend and share in this annual celebration of gratitude and community.
Santa Visits Paragon Casino
Santa Claus is coming to Paragon Casino Resort in Marksville just in time to spread some early Christmas cheer. Families are invited to the Hotel Atrium on Saturday, Nov. 29, from 2 to 6 p.m. to meet Santa and his reindeer.
Guests can take free photos with Santa (bring your own camera) and enjoy a festive holiday atmosphere filled with joy and wonder. There will also be a free live gator show at 4 p.m., offering fun for the whole family.
The event is open to the public and promises a fun-filled afternoon for children and adults alike as Paragon Casino Resort kicks off the holiday season.
New Light Baptist, Usher Day Program
New Light Baptist Church, 134 Stubble Field Rd., Evergreen, will hold their Usher Day Program on Sunday, November 30 at 11 a.m. Host pastor Gary L. Ford invites the public to attend this event.
