🎉 Exciting Events at Avoyelles Parish Library This December! 📚

The Avoyelles Parish Library system has released its schedule of programs taking place in late Dec., offering a variety of activities for children, teens and adults at multiple branch locations. Residents are encouraged to participate and contact their local branch with any questions.

Upcoming Programs

  • Dec, 18: The Marksville branch (660 North Main Street) will host an Adult Art Class titled Drawing 101. The session begins at 10 a.m. and is designed for adults interested in learning or improving basic drawing skills in a supportive environment.
  • Dec. 20: The Marksville Library will also offer a Christmas One-Shot program from 1 to 5 p.m. This special event provides a holiday themed, role playing game experience for participants who enjoy imaginative storytelling and interactive adventures.
  • Dec. 22: A special holiday program, Whoville Storytime and Grinchmas Crafts, will take place at the Marksville Library at 2 p.m. Families are invited to enjoy Dr. Seuss themed stories, treats, crafts and Grinch inspired activities. The event is open to all ages.

Library Hours

Library hours will be adjusted later in the month.
All branches will close at 12 noon on Dec. 23 and will remain closed Dec. 24 through Dec. 27 in observance of the Christmas holidays.

Teen Activities

Teens can look forward to a creative opportunity at the Bunkie branch (200 Walnut Street) on Dec. 30. The Teen Art Workshop will take place from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., giving young artists a chance to explore new techniques and complete a hands on project.

New Year’s Schedule

The Avoyelles Parish Library system will also be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 in recognition of New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Regular Programming

Regular programming continues throughout the month, including Chess Club held every Tuesday at the Bunkie branch from 4 to 6 p.m..
