The Fox Theatre Presents “The Game’s Afoot: Holmes for the Holidays”
The Fox Theatre in Marksville will present Ken Ludwig’s The Game’s Afoot: Holmes for the Holidays on Nov. 20–23, 2025. The play is directed by Kody Walker and features a cast of local actors from across Central Louisiana.

About the Play
The Game’s Afoot is a comedic mystery that won the 2012 Edgar Allen Poe Award for Best Play. Set in December 1936 at the Connecticut castle of Broadway star William Gillette, the play follows Gillette as he invites his fellow actors to his mansion for a holiday celebration. The festivities take a dark turn when a theater critic is found dead. Gillette must use his sharp wit and his famous stage persona of Sherlock Holmes to solve the mystery before more danger unfolds.
