Explore Health Careers: A-HEC of a Summer Program for High School Students!

Central Louisiana AHEC is now accepting applications for its A-HEC of a Summer program, offering high school students an opportunity to explore careers in health care through hands-on experience.

The program allows students to spend 15 days shadowing health care professionals, rotating through hospital departments and participating in interactive workshops.

Participants will: - Gain CPR certification - Practice taking vital signs - Volunteer at local hospitals - Earn ½ unit of elective high school credit

Applicants must be 9th–11th grade students, have at least a 2.0 GPA, and demonstrate an interest in health care careers.

Required application materials include: - A letter of recommendation - A current high school transcript - A clear photo ID

The deadline to apply is March 1.
