Faith House to host Hollywood Trivia Night fundraiser Sept. 18
Faith House is inviting the community to step into the spotlight this September for its annual Hollywood Trivia Night, a movie-themed evening of food, trivia, costumes, prizes and support for survivors of domestic violence.
The event will be held Friday, Sept. 18, at Paragon Casino Resort in the Arsene/Belazaire Rooms, in Marksville. Cocktail hour will begin at 6 p.m., and trivia will begin at 7 p.m.
This year’s theme is Hollywood, and guests are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite movie character, actor or iconic movie moment. Teams may also decorate their tables to bring a favorite movie or Hollywood theme to life. Prizes will be awarded for Best Dressed Individual, Best Team Costume and Best Decorated Table.
The evening will include 10 rounds of trivia, complimentary food, a silent auction, door prizes, contests and other activities. Teams of six may register for $300 per table. Individual tickets are also available for $50, and individual participants will be placed on a team.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Faith House’s new Cenla shelter. Faith House provides safety, empowerment and advocacy for women, men and children escaping violent relationships. The organization serves survivors across Acadiana and Central Louisiana and provides emergency housing, advocacy and critical resources for survivors and their children.
According to Faith House, more than 2,000 women, men and children rely on the organization each year for lifesaving support as they leave violent relationships. The Cenla shelter serves as a safe haven for survivors in some of their most vulnerable moments, offering not only safety, but also hope, healing and the opportunity to rebuild their lives.
Faith House officials said the need for safe shelter and supportive services remains critical, especially in a state that ranks high nationally for women murdered by intimate partners. Without shelter services in Central Louisiana, many individuals and families would have nowhere safe to turn during a crisis.
Last year’s Trivia Night helped sustain Faith House operations in Avoyelles and Rapides parishes. This year, proceeds will directly support the Cenla shelter and help provide emergency housing and support services for survivors who are making the brave decision to leave unsafe situations.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses, organizations and individuals who want to support the event. Sponsorship levels include Supporting Role Sponsor for $250, Star Sponsor for $500, Producers Club Sponsor for $1,000, Directors Circle Sponsor for $2,500 and an exclusive Presenting Sponsorship for $5,000.
Sponsors will receive recognition based on sponsorship level, including event recognition, social media recognition, logo placement on event T-shirts and other publicity opportunities. All sponsors are also invited to take part in the Hollywood fun by decorating tables and dressing up for the evening.
