Fatal Crash on Highway 29 Claims Life of Man

BUNKIE, La. — A fatal crash involving two vehicles early Friday morning, March 27, resulted in the death of a man from Morrow, according to Louisiana State Police.

The incident happened around 7:15 a.m. on Highway 29 near its intersection with Highway 115.

Investigators say 68-year-old Steven Ducote was driving a 2015 Ford truck southbound when, for reasons that are still unclear, his vehicle crossed into the northbound lane. The truck then struck an oncoming 2024 International tractor-trailer.

Ducote was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer did not suffer any serious injuries.

State police are continuing to look into what led to the crash.
