Four Candidates Qualify for U.S. Senate Race in Louisiana!

Four candidates have filed to run for U.S. Senator in Louisiana, with both the Democratic and Republican parties drawing contested races.

Early voting begins Friday, June 12, for Louisiana’s Republican and Democratic primary runoffs for a U.S. Senate seat.

In the Republican runoff, Congresswoman Julia Letlow will face state Treasurer John Fleming.

In the Democratic runoff, Jamie Davis will face Gary Crockett.

The winners of the two party runoffs will advance to the general election for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by Bill Cassidy.

In the Republican Party race, John Fleming of Minden and Julia Letlow of Baton Rouge have qualified. Fleming filed on Feb. 11, 2026, and Letlow filed on Feb. 13, 2026.

In the Democratic Party race, Gary Crockett of New Orleans and “Jamie” Davis of Ferriday have qualified as candidates. Crockett filed on Feb. 13, 2026, while Davis filed on Feb. 11, 2026.

One candidate from each party will be elected to advance from the party race.
