Free computer classes for seniors to begin Oct. 29 in Bunkie

Move Bunkie Forward will launch a series of free computer and internet classes for older adults beginning Thursday, Oct. 29, through its new Golden Connections: Digital Skills for Everyday Life program.

The program is funded through a $15,000 AARP Community Challenge grant awarded to Move Bunkie Forward to expand digital literacy opportunities in the community.

Classes begin Oct. 29 at the Bunkie Library, with additional sessions Tuesdays at 9 a.m. at the Bunkie Middle School Gymnasium and Thursdays at 9 a.m. at the library through Dec. 10.

Participants will learn basic computer skills, internet use, email and online safety. The program, offered in partnership with the Avoyelles Parish Library and City of Bunkie, includes breakfast, fellowship and door prizes.
