Wild Roots Trading Post to host Spring Plant and Seed Exchange 🌱
Gardeners, plant lovers and families alike are invited to gather for a morning of sharing and community at the upcoming Wild Roots Trading Post, a spring plant and seed exchange set for Saturday, March 28, from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Wild Oak Hair Co., located at 125 Tooney Street in Cottonport.
The event encourages participants to bring seeds, plants or cuttings to swap, including flowers, herbs, vegetables and shrubs, while also welcoming those who simply want to attend and learn. Organizers emphasize that no contribution is required to take part, making it an inclusive event for beginners and experienced gardeners alike.
In addition to plant trading, the gathering will feature a kids table with hands-on activities such as mini planting projects, decorating seed packets and simple garden crafts. Attendees are encouraged to bring a box or bag to carry home their new additions.
Hosted by Wild Oak Hair Co., the event aims to bring the community together through creativity, gardening and shared knowledge. For more information, call (318) 717-7771.

April 3
Dupont VFD to host Good Friday Fish Fry 🍽️
The Dupont Volunteer Fire Department will host its Annual Good Friday Fish Fry on Friday, April 3, at 5626 Hwy. 107 in Plaucheville.
The meal will consist of fried fish, French fries, coleslaw and a roll.
Serving times will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., with extra dinners sold from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m., while food lasts.
Organizers are encouraging residents to purchase tickets early. Due to unpredictable weather conditions in previous years, sometimes resulting in a sellout and other times leaving excess meals, the department has limited the number of tickets this year. Meals will be prepared primarily based on pre-ticket sales, with only a small number of additional dinners available.
Tickets are available at Cooyon’s in Dupont, from any member of the Dupont Volunteer Fire Department or by messaging the department directly. For more information, residents may email dupontvolfd@gmail.com.
As always, the department expressed appreciation to the community for its continued support of the annual fundraiser.
