🎉 Holiday Cheer and Patriotism Unite: American Legion Post 130 and Cajun Belles Spread Joy! 🇺🇸
Representatives from American Legion Post 130 and the Cajun Belles recently visited fourth-grade classrooms throughout Avoyelles Parish to promote patriotism and civic pride among local students.
During the visits, members presented each classroom with a United States flag and provided an engaging lesson on the flag’s history, symbolism, and proper etiquette. Organizers said the program is designed to help students better understand and respect national symbols while encouraging good citizenship at an early age.
The two organizations also extended their outreach during the holiday season by supporting students with special needs with Christmas stockings filled with thoughtful gifts and delivered to Special Education (SPED) classes at Lafargue Elementary School and Marksville Elementary School, bringing smiles and holiday cheer to students and staff.
In addition to their work in schools, the Cajun Belles visited OakMont Assisted Living, where they gifted festive Christmas corsages to residents. The gesture added warmth and holiday spirit, reminding residents they are valued members of the community.
Community leaders praised the efforts of American Legion Post 130 and the Cajun Belles for their continued dedication to education, inclusion and service. Organizers said these acts of generosity reflect the groups’ ongoing commitment to strengthening community ties and spreading goodwill across Avoyelles Parish during both patriotic observances and the holiday season.
