The Town of Mansura held a community observance honoring the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, Jan. 19, bringing residents together in reflection, unity and remembrance.

The observance included a Unity March, which began at 2:30 p.m. from the Family Dollar parking lot, followed by a commemorative program at 3 p.m. at the Cochon de Lait Center, located at 1822 L’Eglise Street.

The program featured remarks from guest speaker Pastor John Riddle of LifePoint Community Church, who addressed the continued relevance of Dr. King’s message of justice, service and unity.
