Marksville Egg Knocking on the Square Tradition Continues Easter Sunday
The Marksville Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to “Marksville Egg Knocking on the Square” on Sunday, April 5 on the Avoyelles Parish Courthouse grounds from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon. This traditional egg knocking event is one of the oldest in the state.
Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. The first round of knocking begins with the toddlers at around 9:30 a.m. followed by the children and adult categories for both guinea and chicken eggs.
There are cash prizes for 1st to 4th place in the adult categories and baskets filled with Easter surprises for the top four children in their respective categories.

Easter Eggstravaganza and Kickball Tournament 🐣⚽
Spring fun is headed to Avoyelles Parish as Pretty Girls Inc. and Brotherly Love host the 2nd Annual Easter Eggstravaganza and Adult Kickball Tournament on Saturday, April 4 at the DA Jordan Center in Marksville. The fun takes place on fields 1 and 2, 440 Scallan Street from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with the adult kickball tournament beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Families can enjoy Easter egg hunts for children and adults, games, photos with the Easter Bunny, raffles, vendor booths, and concessions.
The adult egg hunt is $5 to enter. Kickball team registration is $85 per team. Teams are encouraged to register early by messaging organizers on social media or calling or texting 318-500-9755.
Guests should bring their own chairs and tents, as none will be provided.
Brew Crew to Host Easter Egg Hunt 🐰🥚
The Brew Crew will host its 2nd Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4 at Shepherd’s Park, 606 N. Cottonwood in Bunkie. The free community event is open to children and families and will begin at 11 a.m.
Organizers describe the event as a fun-filled morning designed especially for local children, with plenty of Easter eggs and activities planned. The egg hunt will give families an opportunity to gather and celebrate the holiday together.
The event is free to attend.
