🚓 Join the Louisiana State Troopers! Cadet Class 109 Recruitment Now Open!

Louisiana State Police is now accepting applications for Cadet Class 109, a 24-week training academy designed to prepare the next class of Louisiana State Troopers. The application deadline is Jan. 6, 2026, and the academy is scheduled to begin on June 28, 2026.

Cadets will take part in a rigorous curriculum that exceeds POST standards. Training areas include:

• Firearms proficiency
• Tactical driving
• Defensive tactics
• De-escalation
• Advanced crash investigation
• Lawful use of force
• Implicit bias recognition
• The core values of the Louisiana State Police

Applications may be downloaded at laspc.dps.louisiana.gov and must be submitted electronically to the Louisiana State Police Commission.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and meet one of the following qualifications:

• Two years of POST Level 1 law enforcement experience
• 60 semester hours of college credit
• A combination of experience and coursework
• Three years of continuous active military duty since Oct. 1, 2001.
