Local senior citizens will have an opportunity to build confidence with everyday technology during an upcoming hands-on seminar hosted by Building A Better Avoyelles.

The Senior Citizen Technology Seminar is scheduled for May 20 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. and is designed to provide simple, easy-to-understand instruction in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Organizers say the goal is to help participants feel more comfortable using the devices and tools they encounter in daily life.

Topics

• How to use QR codes
• Copying and pasting on phones and computers
• Safely managing passwords
• An introduction to ChatGPT
• General technology safety tips

The session will also include an open question-and-answer portion, allowing attendees to get help with specific issues or concerns.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own phone, tablet or laptop so they can follow along and practice in real time, but if you cannot- computers will be provided.

Space is limited to just 10 participants, ensuring a small-group setting with more one-on-one assistance. Those interested are encouraged to sign up early.
