Marksville High earns Garden Club Award

Marksville High School has been recognized by the Marksville Garden Club as the recipient of the April 2026 Civic Award, honoring the school’s beautifully refreshed landscape along W. Bontemps Street.

The campus features blooming pink and white roses accented by Sunshine ligustrum, loropetalum, holly and azalea shrubs, creating a vibrant and welcoming entrance.

Thoughtful additions such as large decorative rocks, the historic school bell and the flagpole complete the setting.

The project was made possible through the efforts of Principal Kristin Lemoine, ag teacher Sheena Grote and students in the Ag Leadership class, whose work has transformed the area into a standout display of pride and care.

The public is encouraged to drive by and see the improvements firsthand.
