Marksville Lions Club Celebrates Local Graduates with Scholarships!
The Marksville Lions Club recently awarded seven legacy scholarships and one academic scholarship to a graduating senior in the Marksville district
Legacy scholarships, each valued at $500, are presented to graduates who are children or grandchildren of active Lions Club members. This year’s recipients include:
- Brock Borrel, son of Lion Rene Borrel
- Ada Couvillion, granddaughter of Lion Frank Sanchez
- Peyton Dupont, grandson of Lion Mike Ducote
- Isabella Gagnard and Luke Gagnard, grandchildren of Lion Nolan Gagnard
- Avery Marcotte, daughter of Lion Russell Marcotte and Natalie St. Romain, and granddaughter of Lions Robert St. Romain and Nolan Gagnard
In addition, a $500 academic scholarship was awarded to Avoyelles Public Charter School graduate Ariana Gerace, daughter of Adam and Samantha Gerace
Club members expressed appreciation to the community for supporting their fundraisers throughout the year. Proceeds from those efforts help fund the scholarship program, along with donations to organizations such as:
- Louisiana Lions Camp for Children
- Louisiana Lions Eye Foundation
- Other local charitable initiatives
