Marksville Woman, Latrice Robinson, Involved In a Fatal Crash Jan. 28th

A Marksville woman was killed Wednesday morning in a head-on crash on Louisiana Highway 1 in Rapides Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.

Troopers with LSP Troop E responded to the crash near Tyler Road at approximately 10:48 a.m. on January 28, 2026. The driver of a 2015 Ford Focus, identified as Latrice Robinson, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining fatal injuries.

According to the preliminary investigation, Robinson was traveling southbound on Highway 1 when her vehicle crossed the centerline into the northbound lane while attempting to pass multiple vehicles. The Ford Focus collided head-on with a northbound 2016 Infiniti QX8, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.

Robinson was properly restrained at the time of the crash. The driver and a passenger in the Infiniti were also restrained and suffered moderate injuries. Both were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their conditions have not been released.

Louisiana State Police reported that routine toxicology samples were collected from the drivers, as is standard in fatal crashes. The investigation remains ongoing, and no charges have been announced at this time.
