Well folks, the Great Boudin Battle of Avoyelles Parish has its first official champion of the keyboard, and his name is Karl Huesman. Karl won this week’s $25 gift certificate for his fine submission on “Boudin in the Parish,” where he broke down boudin flavors with the seriousness of a court case and the enthusiasm of a man on his third link before breakfast.

Karl is now considered this year’s official Avoyelles Parish Boudin Connoisseur for 2026, a title he can carry proudly into every gathering for the next 12 months. His pick for the best boudin in the parish was T-Jims, so his gift certificate will come from T-Jims. We trust he will use it responsibly, although we all know it will probably be gone before he even gets back to his truck.
