Moreauville Police Investigating Shooting; One Injured, Suspect Arrested

MOREAUVILLE, La. — Authorities in Moreauville are continuing to investigate a shooting that left one man seriously injured late last week.

According to the Moreauville Police Department, officers responded to a call on the 300 block of Porter Street on Friday, April 24, at approximately 5:17 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The victim was initially transported to a local hospital in Avoyelles Parish before being airlifted to a medical facility in Rapides Parish. Officials say he remains in critical but stable condition.

Investigators believe the incident was domestic in nature and have stated there is no ongoing threat to the public. A female suspect was taken into custody at the scene and later charged with attempted second-degree murder.

The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 42-year-old Jennell Anquinette Minix-Thomas of Moreauville.

Authorities say the investigation is still ongoing, and no additional details have been released at this time.
