Dustin Parra indicted for 2014 murder of wife Megan Parra

The husband of a woman long thought to have taken her own life was indicted Wednesday for her murder.
Dustin Parra, 37, of Pineville was indicted for the 2nd degree murder of Megan Ducote Parra and for obstruction of justice for allegedly tampering with evidence of the incident. While arrest warrants have been, or will soon be, issued, Parra had not been arrested as of the writing of this report.
Megan Parra was a 29-year-old mother of two children when she died from a gunshot wound in her Cottonport home on June 28, 2014.
Her death was ruled a suicide, but her parents and other family members never gave up their efforts to prove the death was a murder.
A statement from the family will be released later.
