Hessmer man arrested for downloading child pornography

A Hessmer man was arrested Tuesday (Oct. 5) for allegedly downloading child pornography, the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff's Office reported.

Joshua Reeves, 35, a teacher in the Rapides Parish School System, was charged with pornography involving juveniles following a two-week investigation by APSO and the Louisiana Attorney General's Office Internet Crimes Against Childen Task Force. As of this afternoon, Reeves was still in Avoyelles Detention Center #1 under $260,000 bond.

The case is still under invetigation and additional charges are possible, an APSO spokesman said.

Sheriff David L. Dauzat said APSO is always "proud to work with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office and other state, local and federal law enforcement agencies to keep our children and communities safe, to apprehend these offenders and safely remove them from the streets of our parish."
