Avoyelles Authors Book Fair set April 15 at Marksville library

Celebrating National Library Week

National Library Week is April 23-29 and the Friends of the Avoyelles Parish Libraries is celebrating with its Avoyelles Authors Book Fair on the grounds of the library headquarters in Marksville on Saturday, April 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The library is located at 660 N. Main St.
Avoyelles Parish authors will be set up around the majestic oaks on the lawn in front of the library and will have their books available for purchase. It’s also an opportunity to meet and greet the authors and ask questions.
The library will be open, and on display inside, local artist Kayla Neal will be showing original art work and wood burning designs.
This is a good opportunity to see all the services the library offers. One service is laminating at reasonable cost, as well as copying services in both black and white and color.
Photo albums from years gone by will be on display for patrons to browse through.
The Friends of the Libraries Used Bookstore, located behind the library, will be open as well. Books and other media will be available to purchase. Hardback books are 25 cents and paperback and softback books are 10 cents. Refreshments will be served on the front porch of the library. Parking will be available at the Marksville Baptist Church.
Local authors included will be: Shaundale Rena Johnson, Olivia Friedman, Donna Hankins, Tina Penrose, Ellen Dauzat, Latonya Leary, Mary Marcotte, Charles Riddle III, Lonnie Bridges, Tommy Smith, Larry Gorgenson, Wanda Moreau, Carol Mayeux, Leigh Lejeune, Barbara Cole, Phyllis Andrews, Star Higginbotham, Shawnita Lee Scott, Shyann Jones, Jeraldine Dufour Lacour and Carol Duranda Simon.
