Bayou du lac bridge emergency closing

The Bayou Dulac Bridge on LA 115 in the Bayhills Community south of Hessmer, LA has been closed for emergency repairs. Updates forthcoming.

Getting between Bunkie and Marksville will be difficult over the next few days or weeks as the Bayou du Lac bridge has been closed after an emergency inspection

The bridge connects the two Towns by way of Highway 115 And traffic will now have to be rerouted through Cottonport or Evergreen.

According to State Rep. Daryl Deshotel, a small portion of concrete near the center of the bridge was busted and in need of repair before it is safe for passengers.

“I received notice from DOTD that they were closing the Bayou Dulac bridge on Hwy 115 in the Bay Hills. Repair work will begin first thing in the morning and should be complete and open by Thursday,” he said.
