Festival parade returns to L’Eglise Street in Mansura

The Mansura Chamber of Commerce and Town of Mansura will present the 2022 Cochon de Lait Festival parade beginning at 10 a.m. this Saturday (May 14).
Parade entry is free to participate and entries are currently being sought. Line-up will begin at 9 a.m. at Druco Lumber Company.
The parade route will travel to the Mansura Town Hall along L’Eglise Street.
Grand marshals of the parade will be long time Alderman Gaon Escude and WWII vet Matthew “Leonard” James.
Escude is a former Mansura Mayor Pro-Temp who also served as mayor for a short time in 2006 after the death of Harold Quebedeaux.
James is a 96-year old Mansura resident, one of the World War II veterans still living in Avoyelles. He served in the US Navy from 1943-45.
