Former Gov. Edwin Edwards will lie in state this Saturday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. at the “new” Louisiana State Capitol. The viewing is open to the public to pay its respects to the state's longest governor.
Edwards, 93, died Monday after entering hospice.
According to Leo Honeycutt, family spokesman and Edwards biographer, a private funeral for family and close friends is tentatively set for 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at the Old Louisiana State Capitol.
Services for Sunday are not finalized, however Honeycutt said, plans are in place to broadcast the service on Social Media platforms.
