Guilty verdict in Courtney Coco trial

A Rapides Parish Jury has found David Burns of Boyce guilty in the 2004 murder of then 19-year-old Courtney Coco.
The verdict carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison for the second degree murder charge.
Burns was arrested in April 2021 for the murder of Coco.
Sentencing for the case is scheduled for Nov. 28.
Coco’s family has strong ties to Avoyelles.
