Qualifying for October elections begins today

Qualifying for the October 14 elections will begin today, August 8 and continue until Thursday, August 10 at the Avoyelles Parish Clerk of Court's Office in Marksville. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Seats up for grabs on the October 14 ballot along with the person currently in that position follows. (Note: The current office holder, may or may not, be running for that current position on Oct. 14).

ELECTION DATES TO REMEMBER
The deadline to register to vote in the October election in person, by mail or at the Office of Motor Vehicles is Sept. 13. Deadline to register to vote online through the Geaux Vote online registration system is Sept. 23.
Early voting will be Saturday, Sept. 30 through Saturday, Oct. 7 from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, excluding Sunday, Oct. 1.
