Two inmates escape from Avoyelles Women's Jail

Two women who escaped from the Avoyelles Parish Women's Jail Facility in Cottonport Sunday night are still at large, the Sheriff's Office reported.

Tiffany Juneau, 39, and Reagan Huff, 26, escaped from the detention center around 9 p.m. Sunday (July 4). Sheriff David Dauzat is asking the public to assist authorities in locating and arresting the escapees by calling the Avoyelles Parish 911 Communication Center or APSO at 318-253-4000.

Juneau was in jail on charges of 2nd degree kidnapping and criminal abandonment. She is white, about 5 ft. 6 in. tall with black hair. APSO said she could be in the Marksville area. She was last seen leaving the facility in burgundy/maroon shorts, gray T-shirt and white tennis shoes.

Huff was in jail on a probation/parole violation. She was last seen leaving the facility in black pants, gray T-shirt and black tennis shoes. She is white, about 5 ft. 6 in. tall with reddish hair. She could be headed to Rapides Parish.

Investigation into how the escape occurred s ongoing.

"Upon completion of our investigations, more security enhancements and changes to security procedures will likely be implemented to prevent such incidents," an APSO spokesman said.
"More participants and/or persons that assisted their escape may be identified with charges for all involved forthcoming."
