Unofficial election results: New faces on Marksville council

The Marksville council will be getting some new faces, according to the unofficial March 26 election results announced by the Louisiana Secretary of State.

In District 5, Anita Saucier narrowly defeated incumbent Clyde "Danny" Benson receiving 132 of the 248. Benson received 116. This race was also the largest in the Marksville alderman races with a unofficial voter turnout for this race was 43.0%.

In District 4, Joseph "Danny" Smith II defeated Marshall Dominick with 72 of the 134 votes. Dominick received 62. Unofficial Turnout was 24.6%.

In District 3, Torrick Friels won over Richard Klingensmith, Jr. with 123 of the 216 total votes. Klingensmith received 93. Unofficial Turnout in this district was 31.9%.

Finally in District 2, incumbent Michael "Mike" Gremillion retained his seat defeating opponent LaTonja Williams 120 to 56. This race saw an unofficial voter turnout of 176 voters or 26.7%.
