Stanford Benjamin, age 85, of Cottonport

Funeral service for Stanford Benjamin, age 85, of Cottonport were Saturday, September 25, 2021, 1:00 PM at Little Zion Baptist Church with Pastor Vernon Simon, officiated. Interment in Little Zion cemetery under the direction of Progressive Funeral in Bunkie.

Stanford, entered eternal peaceful rest rest with his Heavenly Father, on Friday, September 17,2021, at Christus St, Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles, surrounded by loved ones.

At an early age he was baptized at Little Zion Baptist Church, where he serviced as a loyal, faithful and dedicated member. He attended Public school in Avoyelles Parish. Though out his lifetime, Stanford was a very hard and dedicated worker. His employment began on Walker Nolan farm in Moreauville, at a sawmill and lumber company in Simmesport, then to New Orleans to work on the railroad for 5 years. He returned to Central Louisiana as a concrete worker for Henry Mayeaux. Continuing employment for 33 years until his retirement in 2001. with Boise Cascade.

Stanford leaves to cherish his memories; a loving and dedicated wife of 63 year, Geraldine Benjamin of Cottonport; one son, Lloyd Benjamin 9 Carmen0 of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Susie (James) Perry and Iris Benjamin of Cottonport; three brothers, Sidney Benjamin (Althea) and Nick Benjamin of Houston, TX;; Nathan Benjamin (Shirley)of Oakdale; 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, Little Zion Baptist Church Family, other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers honored to serve were; Alvin Augustine, Jessie Harmason, Jr., Sidney Benjamin, Jr., Leon Kyle, Charles Collins and John Kyle.
