Obituary for Phyllis Marie Rhynes

May 11, 1941 – August 10, 2026
Funeral services for Mrs. Phyllis Marie Robinson Rhynes will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in the Chapel of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville, with Reverend Mike Eaton officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Gardens, Pollock, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mrs. Rhynes, 85, of Marksville, entered eternal rest on Monday, August 10, 2026.
Phyllis was a long-standing member of the Pineville Church of Christ. She was a loving mother, devoted housewife, great grandmother, and an outstanding farm manager. She was an expert on butter pecan ice cream. Her granddaughters were the light of her life. Stories abound from the special weekends at MeMe’s house. It was so appropriate that Mom decided to visit her Lord after hearing her granddaughter’s voices for the last time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Elodia Robinson; and her siblings, Myrline Fortson, V.M. Robinson, Denvil Robinson, Geraldine Shrout, Pauline Utley, Ray Robinson, Shirley Vangilder, and Bobby Robinson.
Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory include her loving husband of sixty-five years, Clarence Rhynes of Marksville; one son, Dr. Keith Rhynes (Susan) of Baton Rouge; two granddaughters, Summer Rhynes Holton (Zack) of Birmingham, Alabama, and Erin Rhynes Lundstrom (Karl) of Atlanta Georgia; one brother, Clay Robinson of Recktor, Arkansas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
We would like to mention the special friendship of the three amigos, mom, Sandra Jones, and Gloris Nall. Under the guidance of Christ, the three would drive to ladies bible class at the Pineville Church of Christ on Tuesdays. The three were sisters in Christ and also in life.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Donovan Parker, Hunter Parker, Kenneth Patterson, Karl Lundstrom, Lafe Jones, and Taylor Parker. Honorary pallbearer will be Steven Pierce.
The family would like to extend thanks to the staff and residents at Oakmont Estates for the care you extended to not only mom during a difficult time, but also to my Dad during his daily visits.
Special thanks to Annie, Patricia, and the staff of Compassionate Hospice (especially nurse Peyton). You made her last few months as comfortable but more importantly, as dignified as it could possibly be.
